Gratitude is like a warm embrace of the heart. It’s that feeling of being wrapped in a comforting, positive grace of immense gratitude. We’ve all had that moment of gratitude that changed the trajectory of our lives for the better. It’s a formless yet deep and powerful bridge between people. When expressed, it can strengthen relationships, and connect individuals through kindness and support.
In today’s blog post, Nelly Kome Munge, our Manager, will be sharing her story on the beauty of gratitude and its motherly connection to the birth of Radecare.
“Gratitude is a simple word, yet it carries profound depth and meaning. It’s a force that has shaped my life in unimaginable ways. I am Nelly Munge, the last surviving child of a remarkable woman whom I fondly called “Mum” throughout my life. Her legacy and the essence of who she was continue to inspire me every day.
In 2011, tragedy struck when my beloved older brother passed away unexpectedly, leaving a void that could never be filled. Our home was always brimming with life, often crowded with cousins, orphans, and church members. My mother found joy in caring for others, placing their needs above her own. Her selflessness knew no bounds.
In the year 2020, my world came crashing down as I bid farewell to my beloved mother. It felt as if the very essence of the world I knew had ceased to exist. Everything around me crumbled, and I found myself searching for something that could capture her indomitable spirit, her unwavering kindness, and her boundless empathy.
Then, one fateful morning, my incredible husband suggested a life-changing idea: creating a care organization that would mirror the empathy, compassion, and kindness my mother had radiated throughout her life. And thus, the idea for Radecare Ltd. was born.
I am immensely grateful for the unwavering support we received from countless individuals who shared our vision. Radecare is more than just an organization; it’s a profound connection, a lifeline, and a living testament to love, empathy, compassion, and companionship for everyone we serve.
I extend my deepest gratitude to Joel, our jack-of-all-trades, who serves as our IT expert, marketer, advertiser, web developer, social media designer, and manager – a true virtuoso. His dedication and commitment to the cause never cease to amaze me. Often, I find myself balancing multiple roles, from manager to mental health nursing student and mother. In moments of overwhelm, I draw strength from Joel’s resilience and the incredible people surrounding me daily.
To my remarkable husband, I am eternally grateful for your decision to establish something that embodies the spirit of the person I hold closest to my heart, my dear mother.
If you’ve read this far, thank you for taking the time to share in our journey. Welcome to Radecare, where empathy, compassion, and companionship are not just our motto; they are the very essence of who we are and what we stand for. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those we care for and support.”Nelly Kome Monge,
